Segundo: ¡Prepara tu propia CÁPSULA DEL TIEMPO!

1º- Elige un recipiente: una caja de cartón, un bote, una botella...¡Lo que sea! Puedes decorarlo a tu gusto.

2º- Introduce uno o más objetos (no hay límite) que te recuerden a momentos importantes de la cuarentena que has vivido. Pueden ser momentos bonitos, o difíciles, tu eliges. Ejemplos de objetos: un juguete, un libro, un papel con alguna frase, una foto, un dibujo o manualidad, etc.

3º- Guarda la cápsula del tiempo todo el verano. A la vuelta en Septiembre, si todo va bien, utilizaremos nuestras cápsulas del tiempo para hacer presentaciones y debates en los primeros días de clase. ¡Recuerda traerla a la vuelta al cole!

Recomendaciones para el verano

Bueno chicos, todo llega a su fin, y seguro que muchos de vosotros pensaréis "¡YA ERA HORA!". Este curso ha sido muy extraño y poco ideal, pero estoy seguro de que todos lo habéis hecho lo mejor que habéis podido. Sinceramente, ESTOY MUY ORGULLOSO DE TODOS VOSOTROS.

Poco sabemos de qué va a pasar el año que viene, pero una cosa es segura: vamos a aprender de nuestra experiencia éste último trimestre para que podamos todos seguir mejorando y creciendo.

El verano se acerca y, con él, una cantidad de tiempo libre considerable. Seguro que pensáis que éste no es tiempo para andar estudiando y haciendo deberes... ¡Y tenéis razón! Sin embargo, recordad que el verano no dura para siempre, y que la vuelta va a ser mucho más fácil si seguís practicando aquello que más os cuesta.

Con respecto al inglés, mi recomendación va a ser muy sencilla:

LEED

EPIC BOOKS ha ampliado el periodo de uso de las cuentas que os abrí. Se mantienen hasta el inicio del próximo curso, aunque se le aplica una limitación de dos horas semanales. Ésta es una buena cantidad de tiempo de lectura en inglés para que, sin agobios, no perdáis el ritmo y refresquéis el vocabulario. Con que hagáis 15-20 minutos diarios será suficiente. Recomiendo la opción de audiolibro, muy útil para practicar pronunciación y mejorar la ortografía.

Para los interesados, Gerónimo Stilton tiene una interesante colección de libros en inglés, y otra de libros bilingües. Ambos estilos incluyen vocabulario accesible, ilustraciones atractivas e historias interesantes que pueden atrapar la atención del lector. Os dejo una imagen:

Heat Part 1:

Heat is a type of energy, produced by the movement of molecules in matter. This energy is transferred from a hot object to a cold object. Thsi can happen by means of conduction, convection or radiation. Radiation needs no matter, it requires waves!!

Heat Part 2:

Temperature is not the same as heat! Temperature is how we measure heat. Heat is a type of energy transferred from a hot object to a cold object through conduction, convection or radiation. States of matter are: solid, liquid and gas. High temperatures produce changes in the state of matter, and expansion of gases.

HOMEWORK:

PRACTICE: Exercises 10, 11, 12 and 13 from your Activity Book (pages 29 and 30).

INVESTIGATION: Look up the definition of "THERMAL CONDUCTOR" and "THERMAL ISULATOR". Use the Internet to find 5 materials that are good thermal conductors, and 5 materials that are thermal insulators.

ALREADY and YET

PRESENT PERFECT Strikes Back!!

Hi guys!, today we will learn about the ADVERBS: ALREADY and YET. These words are usually used with present perfect setences. Examples:


ALREADY se usa en frases afirmativas. Significa YA

• I have already finished my homework. 

(MEANING: Yo YA he terminado mis deberes)

YET se usa en frases negativas. Significa Aún/Todavía.

• I haven´t finished my homework yet. 

(MEANING: Yo no he terminado mis deberes AÚN/TODAVÍA)


YET también se usa en preguntas. En este caso puede significar YA. 
También, si la frase es itnerrogativa Y negativa, puede significar TODAVÍA.

• Have you finished your homework yet?. 

(MEANING: ¿Has terminado tus deberes YA?)

• Haven´t you finished your homework yet?. 

(MEANING: ¿No has terminado tus deberes TODAVÍA?) - ¡Aquí estoy expresando sorpresa!

Responsabilidad Social y cuarentena

Queridos alumnos y alumnas, ahora es más importante que nunca mantener buenos valores cívicos y ciudadanos. Ser responsables es fundamental para acabar con la pandemia que estamos viviendo, y en ello tú juegas un papel fundamental.

1- Mira este vídeo, dónde se explica cómo se expandió el virus COVID-19, y cómo estamos haciendo, entre todos, que desaparezca.

2- Ahora quiero que reflexiones. Para cada una de estas situaciones, responde a estas preguntas: (Lee bien las instrucciones antes de responder)

- ¿Hay algo que se esté haciendo mal? 
- ¿Cómo afecta ésto la persona de cada situación?
- ¿Cómo afecta cada situación a toda la sociedad? 
- ¿Cómo podría hacerse diferente, de forma más responsable?


SITUACIÓN A: Cuando se enteró de que había un virus en su ciudad, John fue corriendo al supermercado y compró 25 cajas de mascarillas. "Necesito protegerme a mí y a mi familia"-Pensó.


SITUACIÓN B: Durante la desescalada, el gobierno permite que los niños den un paseo con sus padres a horas específicas, pero siempre manteniendo la distancia de seguridad con otras personas. Peter ve a su mejor amigo en la calle y los dos se ponen a jugar al pilla-pilla. 


SITUACIÓN C: La mamá de Steven no sabe inglés. El maestro de inglés sigue mandando para trabajar desde casa. Steven hace las tareas en menos de un minuto, sin pensar y escribiendo cualquier cosa. La mamá piensa que su hijo se esfuerza mucho al ver la tarea terminada a diario, y le recompensa con tiempo extra para jugar video juegos.


INSTRUCCIONES: Escribe 3 párrafos (uno por cada situación) respondiendo a las preguntas. Las respuestas deben ser elaboradas, se pedirá repetir el trabajo si se dan respuestas cortas. Se valorará la reflexión razonada y que se den ejemplos. Se puede entregar en formato digital, o una foto a la libreta.

Animation Project - Proyecto de Animación

Hi guys!, do you know what a FLIPBOOK is? They are short animations made with blank paper. They are fun and simple, do you want to try?

FLIPBOOK SAMPLE:

FLIPBOOK INSTRUCTIONS: (MIRA LOS DOS VÍDEOS)

Para hacer Flipbooks, sólo necesitas un lápiz y hojas de papel. Podéis añadir colores con lápices, rotuladores o lo que se os ocurra. Siempre es mejor que sean hojas duras, de cartulina. En papelerías venden láminas para tomar notas que podréis usar. Comprar papel especial no es obligatorio, podéis empezar con post-its o con cualquier tipo de hojas que tengáis en casa.

Un clip o pinza os ayudará a mantener las hojas unidas.


Se recomienda usar una ventana o un dispositivo con luz para calcar los dibujos (no calques sobre una superficie que no sea de cristal, podrías romper la pantalla de tu ordenador)

(Modo simple: usa un taco de post-its notes o una librera.Añade pequeñas variaciones en cada hoja para que haya movimiento.)

(Modo avanzado: usa papeles sueltos, y calca los dibujos en una ventana o superficie dura de un ipad o teléfono. Añade pequeñas variaciones en cada hoja para que haya movimiento.)

EVALUACIÓN

Para la evaluación del proyecto, enviar un pequeño vídeo (lo que dure la animación será suficiente) En el vídeo, los alumnos/as pueden comentar brevemente su animación y qué le ha parecido el proyecto. 

Se valorará que la animación sea fluida, más que la calidad del dibujo. La presentación (el uso de colores, rotulado de los dibujos, etc) y la duración de la animación (la cantidad de dibujos que incluya) también serán valoradas positivamente.

Hi guys!, we are going to start a new unit. This unit is related to SOUND, LIGHT and HEAT energy. We already know these types of energy, so let´s learn some more!


Look at the photos on pages 54 and 55 of your Natural Science Students Book, and think about these questions:

How do sound, light and heat energy travel? What do they have in common?

The answer is......

WAVES!  --  ¡ONDAS!

We can hear sound waves thanks to our ears.

We can see light waves thanks to our eyes.

We can feel heat energy waves thanks to our skin and the nervous system.

Energy travels through waves, but matter doesn´t. That is why the ball in the next video only goes up and down, but not in the direction of the wave

Por si a alguien se le ocurre hacerlo a medias, salir y volver a entrar para hacerlo desde el principio y así poder cambiar respuestas: Se me quedan registrados todos los intentos que realizan los alumnos, con los fallos y aciertos que hayan realizado. No tendré en cuenta la nota que saques en un segundo o tercer intento, puesto que cuentas con la ventaja de saber las preguntas.

NO HAGÁIS EL TEST CON EL LIBRO DELANTE O CON LA AYUDA DE NADIE. Esta es una oportunidad par ver qué habéis aprendido y qué dificultades tenéis. Confío en que vais a ser responsables.

EL TEST SÓLO SE REALIZA UNA VEZ, y recibirás tu puntuación al acabar. Puedes hacer las preguntas en el orden que quieras y tomar todo el tiempo que necesites para pensar. 

El test queda abierto hasta el próximo viernes 8. Tienes más de una semana para entrar y hacerlo. Si no has entregado las tareas y practicado con el quizizz, aún estás a tiempo de hacerlo para prepararte este test. 

Es muy fácil, no os preocupéis. ¡Un abrazo a mis alumnos, alumnas y sus familias!

Vamos a comenzar una nueva unidad, centrada en el conocimiento de uno mismo. El objetivo es la reflexión personal en cuanto al autococepto (cómo nos vemos a nosotros mismos), el autocontrol (nuestra capacidad para gestionar emociones y conflictos) y la responsabilidad.


Os dejo un formulario para que reflexionéis sobre cómo sois y cómo so sentís en esta situación de confinamiento obligatorio que estamos viviendo. Es una actividad muy personal, y necesito que las hagáis solos, siendo muy sinceros. Las respuestas son personales, y no se van a compartir con nadie.

Buenas tardes, He dado al salto a Youtube y os he preparado un vídeo donde comento las actividades que había que entregar HOY (miércoles 22 de abril). Por favor, si aún no las has hecho, intenta hacerlo tú sólo/a antes de ver el vídeo. Aunque sea tarde, siempre es mejor entregar las tareas. Envíame las tareas por Raíces y luego corrígelas.

Modelling is the process of creating figures or give shapes to a material. Modelado es el proceso de crear figuras o dar forma a distintos materiales.

MATERIALS:

For this project, you are going to need BREAD DOUGH mixed with CRAFTING GLUE. Para hacer este proyecto, vas a necesitar hacer MASA DE PAN mezclada con COLA BLANC. 
You will also need some vinager (or lemon) and some scissors. También necesitarás vinagre (o limón) y unas tijeras.

To make a question, put 'have' or 'has' in front of the subject:

As you can imagine, for 'wh' questions, we just put the question word before 'have' or 'has':

POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE SENTENCES 

in PRESENT PERFECT

WELCOME BACK! Still at home, but back to work! Let´s continue our practice with present perfect.

To make the positive present perfect tense, use:

• 'have' / 'has' + the past participle
• Make the past participle by adding 'ed' to regular verbs (for example, 'play' becomes 'played')
• There are a few verbs that change their spelling when you add 'ed' (for example, 'study' becomes 'studied')
• We also have some completely irregular verbs

(Also, here's some help if you are not sure how to pronounce '-ed' at the end of a verb).

I have played	I've played
you have worked	you've worked
he has written	he's written
she has walked	she's walked
it has rained	it's rained
we have travelled	we've travelled
