Origami Project

Origami is the ancient Japanese art of folding paper. In Spanish, it is called "papiroflexia". Origami es el arte antiguo japonés de doblar papeles. En español se llama papiroflexia.

Materials: White or coloured paper. Any size. Materiales: hoja de papel blanco o de colores. Cualquier tamaño vale.

Goal: to create 3D-figures with paper. Objetivo: crear diferentes figuras 3D con papel.

2- Getting Ready for the First Figure:

Most of origami figures start from a SQUARE PAPER, so this is how you can make any paper square. La mayoría de las figuras se comienzan con un PAPEL CUADRADO, así que así es como puedes hacer cuadrado cualquier papel que tengas:



First, fold the paper like this.

Then, cut.

3- Our first figures:

Follow the instructions of these origami figures. They have different levels, do the easy ones first. Difficult ones are not mandatory. Sigue las isntrucciones de estas figuras de origami. Tienen diferentes niveles de dificultad, haz las más fáciles primero. Las dificiles no son obligatorias.

A la vuelta de la pandemia, traeremos 3 figuras a clase (UNA DE ELLAS DEBE SER DE DIFICULTAD MEDIA). 

Podéis mandarme vuestras creaciones por raíces, y yo las subiré al blog. ¡Veréis qué divertido!

Renewable Energy- Turbines

Hi students!

On our last entry, we were talking about renewable energy and turbines. But, what are turbines? Where can we find turbines? Turbines are machines that generate movement (mechanical energy), so it is later transformed into electricity. They look like this:

Turbines can move with water, wind and gas, so we can find them in different types of energy stations:

Hidroelectric Stations use the movement of water to move turbines.

They use water from waterfalls.

Thermal and Nuclear Stations use the movement of gas to move turbines.

 They have to burn coal, biomass or use uranium to produce gas.

Eolic Stations use the movement of wind to move turbines.

They use the natural force of movement produced by wind.

1- One of these stations doesn´t use renewable energy. Can you guess which? Explain why.

Sobre las tareas de inglés

Hola familias

Espero que hayáis comprendido llevamos varios días únicamente repasando las unidades vistas hasta ahora. NO HAY QUE HACER TODA LA FICHA. Cada día hacemos solo las tareas de la unidad que toca.

Hoy, en las dos fichas, sólo hacemos las actividades de la unidad 5 (buscad el globo con un 5).

NO HAY PORQUÉ QUE IMPRIMIR. Pueden hacerlo en la libreta. Copiar enunciados es una buena práctica, prefiero que lo escriban todo.

COLOR PROJECT (Started 13/03/2020)

Color Project

Today we will work on color ranges. Hoy trabajamos gamas de colores. 

Materials: one white paper (A4), pencils, markers or paint (you choose the material to color with). Materiales: hoja de papel blanco A4, lápices, rotuladores o témperas (tú elijes). 

Goal: to differentiate warm and cold color ranges. Objetivo: diferenciar colores cálidos de colores fríos.

Look at this image. Then, organize your colors (pencils, markers or paints) into "warm" or "cold" categories. Primero, mira el esquema titulado “CÁLIDO vs FRÍO esquema”. Organiza los colores que tengas en cálidos y fríos. 

Then, following this example, draw shapes of different sizes (they can be circles, triangles, squares or any other shape). Luego, siguiendo el ejemplo, en la hoja de papel dibuja formas de diferentes tamaños (círculos, cuadrados, triángulos, lo que quieras). 

On top of it, draw your own arm, including your hand. Then, use cold colors to color the arm, and warm colors for the outside (or the opposite). Encima, dibuja tu brazo con la mano abierta incluida. Luego usa los colores fríos para el brazo, y los colores cálidos para los círculos (o al revés).
